Y’all should know by now that I’m passionate about geeking out over the books I love, as well as spreading the word about other Christian authors. So with that said, I am gonna hop right into today’s post, because I’ve got exciting news!
A few years back, I discovered Christian indie author Given Hoffman. She’s written a contemporary suspense novel – The Eight Ransom – and she’s also been working on a medieval series, MARKED. The first two books, The Tournament’s Price and The Rebel’s Mark, were AMAZING, and I’m super excited to announce that Book 3, The Healer’s Secret, is on Kickstarter as of TODAY! Go check it out and then I’ll tell you why I love this series so much.

So, why do I love the MARKED series?
First of all, the action. It’s full of clean action with no graphic violence, and yes, I have stayed up WAY too late reading because I couldn’t put it down. 😁 Given is really good at suspense!
Second, the worldbuilding. MARKED is not like your typical fantasy book; it’s an extremely realistic medieval world, multi-layered and well-researched, with no anachronistic elements. So even though it’s a fictional realm, it’s not fantasy.
Third – but probably most importantly – the themes and faith content. These are SUPER well-handled and woven very naturally into the story! I added a LOT of lines to my Goodreads quotes when I read The Rebel’s Mark because there were so many good ones!
I’ve been (very impatiently) waiting and pestering Given to finish The Healer’s Secret, because she left Books 1 AND 2 on cliffhangers. 😆 I can’t wait to see what happens in Book 3, and look at that gorgeous cover! (Y’all, I knew it was gonna be red long before she revealed it. I just had the feeling in my toenails.)
There are some pretty cool backer’s rewards on that Kickstarter page, huh? You can bet I’m going to back it, just as soon as I figure out which level I want.
And since I’m on the launch team for The Healer’s Secret, be warned – y’all are gonna be hearing a LOT more about it in the weeks to come!
