Welcome back, peeps! (I'm writing this post WAY late at night because I didn't do it earlier, so if there are any weird typos . . . you know why).

Our theme today is arts! Being a graphic designer, violinist, writer, and crocheter, I definitely appreciate this. However, I have a hard time finding books with artsy characters, because I read mostly older books, and back in the day those pursuits were frowned on as being frivolous and worldly - which annoys me to no end. 😒
Anyway, let's see what we can do here!
1. The Artist by Amy LeFeuvre

Even though I was a wee bit disappointed over how the story ended, this was still a sweet book. Our titular artist, Jean, struggles to use her talents to serve God in the world without letting art become her idol.
2. The Robber's Cave by A.L.O.E.

More Lamplighter books! I chose this one because there's a musician in here who's absolutely amazing. 😍 I LOVE this book because it's so tense but also has such good Christian messages (and they're not excessively preachy like some A.L.O.E. books tend to be).
(Also, it's set in Italy. So. ✨)
3. A Child's Garden of Verses by Robert Louis Stevenson

You can never outgrow beautiful poems. Need I say more? 🥰
4. The Mystery of the Stolen Music by Gertrude Chandler Warner

Okay, yeah, so I still read Boxcar Children. This one features a stolen Mozart score, and Violet gets some action!
5. Aku-Aku by Thor Heyedahl

Can archaeology be considered an art form? Idk, but Heyerdahl was studying ancient Easter Islanders' artwork, so we'll run with it. Besides, I'm tired and want to go to bed. 😂
It's been a long time since I read this book, but I do remember that it was fascinating and unexpectedly hilarious at times.

Ooh, The Robbers’ Cave!! I’m so glad to see this one featured here today, because I absolutely LOVE Rafael!!
Yes, he’s awesome! I named my violin after him. 😁
I don’t think archaeology is an art, but I’m not an archaeologist, so what do I know 😆 I loveeeee the Stevenson book, and I’m super intrigued about the first 2 books…
Yes, technically it’s a science, but it was after midnight and I was running out of ideas. 😂
Yes, you should check out the Lamplighter books! They’re so good!
I’ve read some other Lamplighter books but not those two! We used to have A Child’s Garden of Verses lying around, and I enjoyed picking it up! And I’ve read some of The Boxcar Children books!
For the most part I really like Lamplighter books!
The Artist and The Robber’s Cave are wonderful stories! It’s such fun seeing them featured!
Yes they are!
Thank you, Phoebe! The first two books are definitely going on my TBR list. See you again tomorrow, Lord willing. 📚🤗
Oh, and I loved the Boxcar Children growing up!
Yay! Tomorrow is my favorite category. 😁
Me too!! 😊
