I’m absolutely DEE-lighted to be the first target for Shekinah’s new tag! She was right when she said I had some ideas going (and you’re welcome, by the way, Shekinah; I’m so happy to have gotten you thinking! ๐) It doesn’t matter that I just posted a tag yesterday; I’m having fun!! โ๏ธ๐
So, without further speechifyin’ (which is just a lovely fun little word, isn’t it?) we’ll jump right in and list the rules:
The Rules
- Link back to the original tag, as well as your taggerโs โ
- List the rules โ
- Make a list of a few characters and a song that fits each of them, or a verse from a song. For authors, these can be your OCs. Readers? Some of your favorite characters. โ
- Tag someone (or multiple someones) โ
The Characters
As usual, I’m going to go with some of my YWLA crew ๐ I’ll use the ones that I did the character aesthetics for!
Parker
Fix My Eyes by for KING + COUNTRY
This song really gives me strong Parker vibes; not in the sense of looking back wishing he’d done things differently, but in the sense of his goals right now. It’s a perfect song for a Christian sergeant โ๏ธ
Rory
Long Live by for KING + COUNTRY
Hehe yes, I chose this song for my Outsiders playlist, but it works really well for Rory too! He’s young and full of LOTS of life, a rather chaotic mess with a loyal heart and a reckless sense of adventure.
Petey
Lord of Eternity by Fernando Ortega
I grew up listening to Fernando and recently rediscovered how much I love his songs. ๐ Petey is . . . well, I can’t say too much without giving spoilers, but this song would mean a lot to him.
Reg
Do You Love Me (Now That I Can Dance) by The Contours
I don’t know if Reg has ever been in love with a girl – probably, at least for a little while – but he can definitely dance. He’s always popular at parties and the dance nights his Pop has at the deli.
Cowboy
Praise to the Lord, the Almighty by Joachim Neander (sung by Fernando Ortega)
This was one of the first songs I thought of for Cowboy (and believe me, I could’ve chosen a LOT of them, since he loves classic hymns and spirituals). There’s nothing he loves more than praising the Lord, and he just can’t seem to stop!
“Brother, that doesn’t matter to the Lord [not being able to sing well]. He loves hearin’ you sing, even if you sound like a dyin’ rooster stuck in a rusty barn door.”
Corbin
Burning Bridges by the Mike Curb Congregation
Another one from my Outsiders list . . . I also used a couple of the lines in the aesthetic I made for Corbin. He’s a bitter man who failed at civilian life and got passed over for promotion in the Marines.
The Taggees
Since Katja loves tags like me, we’re gonna tag her! And Journey, whenever she gets back from traipsing across the Sahara on the back of a camel.
As always, y’all are welcome to snurch for your own purposes, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with! ๐
