My dad has been reading us Treasure Island – he first read it to us over ten years ago – and we’re all loving it. Even my brother, who can’t stand pirates, is really enjoying the suspense . . . and the realistic portrayal of pirates as a villainous lot. 😆 It’s giving me good memories of when I was writing The Treasure Beyond, and how much fun I had with that. 🥰

But apropos of that, today be Talk Like a Pirate Day! So hoist the anchor, trim the jib sail, and set off to find ye some doubloons. 💰

I still do like The Treasure Beyond, even though the illustrations aren’t great and I’ve become a better writer since then. Bonnie is probably one of my favorite female characters I’ve written. And it’s still one of my best sellers!
