Every Book Is An Adventure

Since I’m going on vacation next week and won’t be active, I’m going to get one last tag in before I go! Thank you Shekinah for tagging me! 😊

The Rules

  • Tag 1-3 bloggers you’re subscribed to
  • Share the link to your nominator’s blog
  • Be as detailed as you want!

The Questions

1. What made you want to start a blog and how did it come about?

Well, I wanted a blog because I’m an author, and most of the authors I followed had blogs. Originally I had a very dated-looking website I’d made with Dreamweaver, and because of how it was set up, I really wasn’t able to write a proper blog on it. So after learning some basic WordPress in college, I rebuilt my site using WP, and it’s been MUCH better (even if WP gives me weird and unexplainable glitches sometimes 😒).

2. What is your blog about?

Anything and everything, lol. Lots of writing updates and such, and tags. And books and movies, and basically anything else I want to yap about.

3. How long have you been blogging (or how old is your blog)?

Urm . . . about a year or so, I think? I don’t quite remember how long I’ve been using WP.

4. What was your first blog post about?

Just saying that I’d switched my site to WP and was still trying to figure things out.

5. What kind of posts might we be seeing on your page in the near future?

Oh, probably more tags, an interview with a new author, and of course writing updates on YWLA.

6. Aside from blogging, what are some of your other writing aspirations, if you have any?

Finish writing YWLA, edit and publish it, and start working on Motto of Glory, my Italian paratroopers’ story. Oh, and at some point there are a couple more books in the Tales of Veridon series that I’d like to write.

7. Why do you blog?

Uhh . . . because I like to keep people updated on my writing, and I definitely like to yap. 😁

8. What are some interesting/fun facts about you?

-I’ve been to Africa – I was about 2 months old, and my parents were visiting some missionaries.
-I own five typewriters, and yes, I do use them – my favorite is the 1933 Remington.
-I listen to lots of 40s music, and I know the bandleaders and singers WAY better than anything modern.
-I collect vintage militaria, Pusheen the Cat merch, typewriters (or course), old cameras, and Rosie the Riveter stuff.

9. If you could tell the world anything, what would it be?

Without Jesus, life is empty. With Him, it’s endlessly fulfilling. 🫶

10. If you were to start another blog, what would it be about?

Probably reenacting, graphic design, or my favorite old tv show.

11. Who is your favorite author?

Urm, I have a few, actually. Dead authors (that sounds bad lol) are Tolkien, G.A. Henty, and Brian Jacques. Living authors include Chuck Black, Savannah Jane McCrary, Given Hoffman, and Katja Labonté.

12. Summer or winter? (And why!)

Summer, by FAR. It’s warm and you can actually DO THINGS (even if it’s far too short 😭) and there are THUNDERSTORMS (though those usually include hail) and the county fair and reenacting at the Air Force Base, and yard sales with mum and wearing allllll my lovely t-shirts! And things are GREEN (in the yard at least, not on the prairie) and you have BLUE SKIES and FLUFFY CLOUDS!!!

The Tagged

Hmm, I thinketh . . . I shall tag Katja! It’s been a while (at least it seems like it to me).
